Sekitar Bench is inspired by self-built benches that frequently appear in everyday public spaces, reflecting a quiet vernacular design shaped by necessity, adaptability, and social rhythm.
These structures often improvised from found materials and reveal a quiet yet persistent vernacular language of design rooted in necessity, adaptability, and social rhythm.
Through this project, WOF reinterprets these spontaneous forms into a modular bench system that reflects the value of desain sekitar—design shaped by context, by people, and by the needs that arise in the in-between spaces around us.
